Last cross country ski this Christmas. I wanted to try out some Atomic Gen skis - these are shaped cross country skis a bit like cross country carving skis.

The avalanche risk finally dropped enough to open the Beldina nordic ski area; part of the 7 Laux ski area.

First alpine ski of the season. Absolutely nobody around so we managed to cover quite a bit of ground.

Same route as Friday but on the new bike. A bit hotter todayClimb (24m46s. Average HR 163bpm. VAM 859m) 25m34, 164bpmDescent (6m50s. Max speed 62.9km/h, 48.6km/h ave) 6m17s, ave 52.9 km/h, max 69.

My idea was to test an old bike against a new bike over the same circuit.Climb is 4.04 km over 355 vertical meters giving 8.8% with sections over 10%. 24m46s. Average HR 163bpm. VAM 859mDescent is 5.

Stopped to chat to Valerie who was also on rollerskis. As it was a headwind out that was a nice break for quarter of an hour.

Bad leg at the moment so not keen on cycling or walking. A little return to rollerskiing and a bit faster this time.

First rollerski of 2024. I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to ski any more but it is like riding a bike. A bit shakey to start but times not too bad.

Climb to the Col de la Poya is just under 7km at 7.7% for a VAM of 650 m/h. Not too quick but it seemed very steep.

48 days after my operation for a broken femur a bit of gentle classic skiing on the Beldina pistes. The ski resort of les 7 laux was totally rammed but I found a space at the Nordic car park.
