Description

Traditional end of season at les Arcs. We had monster snow fall a week ago but no sign of it now with lots of bare slopes. You had to be very careful below 1700m as every drop off could hide slush and rubble. Fairly surprising. Quite a few runs closed too but overall enough skiing at altitude to keep us occupied until it got too warm in the mid afternoon.

Amusing incident with an aggressive liftie who'd stretched a black banderole across the piste which I didn't see given the difference in light and shade. He was ranting away but I said he should have put up an orange sign to warn of the danger.

Conditions

Aiguille Rouge cable car link was closed due to melting permafrost making the foundations unstable. Not as much snow cover as last year at the same time. Malgovert black was closed, for example.
