The avalanche risk finally dropped enough to open the Beldina nordic ski area; part of the 7 Laux ski area. The resort, which had been quiet on Christmas day, was absolutely rammed and it was hard to find car parking. I started by doing a couple of tours of the blue piste, not too much climbing but once I was warmed up tackled the red, which was actually easier than I had feared as I got into a nice rythm on the climb and the slope is even at around 7% rather than having steep ramps. In the end I toured all the pistes that they open these days in 11.8km so the area is actually very small, even when fully open.
