Last cross country ski this Christmas. I wanted to try out some Atomic Gen skis - these are shaped cross country skis a bit like cross country carving skis. They are a bit odd as quite short but very stiff but they really do seem to work. Being short they make climbing easier and it is possible to parallel turn around corners. The idea doesn't seem to have taken off, maybe cross country is too conservative?
The pistes were not in great condition. Ok to ski but you had to be a bit careful. For some reason the snow is always poor in the 7 laux nordic ski area compared to other places at the same altitude. Some kind of microclimate.
4C in the car park. Light snow when I left. The pistes were a bit thin in places but overall not too bad.
