Variation on a theme, the Rilleux le Pape tour in the reverse direction.

A tour via the Parc Miribel Jonage and Rilleux la Pape.  The first 15km are largely on cycle lanes although one runs alongside the Autoroute in places.

The only good day of the week was an excuse to take the morning off work to do some chores (cake baking !) and get in an early lunch nordic ski at Chamrousse.

Return to the 7 Laux but despite and early start and quiet pistes it took us quite a bit of time to get started. Maybe the ski on the Pleynet side, with its slow lift was the cause.

I'd heard that la Feclaz was largely open so motivated myself for a morning trip up. I arrived before 9.30, good as people were only just starting to arrive.

First skate ski of the winter. The 400 meter climb to the crête du poulet and Luisard is always good to get the red blood cells working.

For the first alpine ski of the new season we decided to head up to the Sept Laux after not much thought. It was pretty empty when we arrived.

A ride after the flooding this week. I decided to take the direct route over the top of Calluire et Cuire then descend down to Fontaines sur Saone.

First ski of the 2023/24 season. I only have my classic cross countries skis with me at the moment so the choice was quickly made.

Lunch tour over Mont Cindre with a Fourviere as a bonus. Fourviere and the city center had a very heavy police presence for the funeral of the former mayor Gerard Columb.
