We decided to head up to the 7 Laux for Christmas day on the grounds that the locals would be eating their Dinde aux marrons and otherwise occupied. It turned out to be a good plan.

After some research I decided that the Plateau de Retord was the best bet for the weekend.

I've stopped cycling for the winter so wanted to get back into running a bit before the ski season starts. A bit of an improvement on September and managed to run under 6m/km for the 4.

Sunday afternoon ride after a pub lunch. I thought I was going quite well but 2m30 slower on the course a cote (Limonest zig zags) compared to my PR.

This walk might be interesting to anyone in Lyon. Basically follow the Park de la Tete d'Or to the far end of the Cité internationale.

Very fast tour today. I profited a bit from sheltering behind cyclists where possible. Average speed was 23.9 km/h which is quite good given the climb and complex nature of the semi urban roads.

Trying some new roads. I went along the Saône to a spot called Hawaii - people surf here on the waves.

I was a bit late getting out so had to hurry on the ride out. Lucky was able to ride with someone else to the Isle de Barbe and there was still a bit of a headwind.

A short lunch ride, I had just over an hour to do a tour but wanted a bit of climb.
