After some research I decided that the Plateau de Retord was the best bet for the weekend. They even claimed the "noire" open although they hadn't pisted the northern link so I skied as far as La chapelle de Retord - the building dates from the 19th century but has been restored. The original chapel dates from the 17th century. It is only used once per year as their is no resident priest.
I decided to shunt the long southern loop by taking one of the blue pistes in the reverse direction, there were no other skiers on this link but for a couple of girls with the same idea as me... only descending at alpine ski speeds as they were from the local club.
Not too busy but just enough people around not to be too lonely.
Good snow, pistes better prepared compared to last year although the Cuvery link wasn't open from la Chapelle
