Description

This walk might be interesting to anyone in Lyon. Basically follow the Park de la Tete d'Or to the far end of the Cité internationale. Cross the main road to the Rhone river and follow it back to the Pont de Lattre de Tassigny and then through the 1.7km foot tunnel to the Saone river. From here follow the banks of the river south where we stopped for a pub lunch at the Wallace pub. From here you can cross back to the start point via the place des Terraux. The left bank of the Saone is nice in the late morning in the autumn or spring as it gets the sun and is quieter than the Rhone tow-path. The Wallace does breakfast at midday, if you've not eaten. The park is nice in the morning before the afternoon crowds get out. However the "son et lumiere" only seems to work in the tunnel on Sunday afternoons.
