I didn't know if le Sappey had opened so took my classic skis with the idea that I could always go up towards Emeindras and make my own tracks.

Probably the start of winter. Obviously the road ins't pisted yet so we climbed the traditional way, taking relays to make the classic tracks.

I wanted a flat trip around near where I live just to get some air but not go far or hard as I sprained my ankle on Sunday.

I took the back route into the Madeleine via the lacets de Montvernier Col du Chaussy and the lac du Loup. There are some sections of 13% above Montvernier on a balcony road.

I'd not ridden this loop over the Col de la Poya since pre-lockdown.

A quick rollerski to work mainly on diagonal technique.

A lunch skate, I'd wanted to do a couple of climbs up the Chartreux hill but broke the tip of my pole on the hard tarmac, will have to see about repairing it now.

2m33 for the Chartreux climb compared to 2m49 last time on classic RS and 1m46 on skate skis. Still that's 50% slower on classic so room for some improvement.

Quick ride over the Coteau with tot, we didn't go too far as it was getting a bit gloomy. Pleasant temperature.

This is becoming our go-to ride. Just technical enough to provide a challenge with lines etc but all rideable at the moment with no real risk of a nasty off.
