After the ski touring, I took the opportunity to test a new pair of classic skis, slightly longer than my previous ones (201 cm vs 196 cm), with the hope of improving glide.

The aim was to climb a bit but not go too far. The first climb up to Croix Rousse was pretty tough to be honest.

The cross country ski area of Meygal offers 44km of varied trails between 1200 and 1450 meters altitude.

A lunch run to the hill of Fourvière between the rain storms, which are incessant this year. Run up ok apart from the end of the steep staircase and took a slightly longer route for the descent.

I wanted to check my bike after straightening the derailleur hangar which I bent in a crash a month ago. All ok apart from the new chain doesn't run on the old cassette.

Run up through the gardens to Fourviere, descent via the staircase to St Paul which apparently has 796 steps. Weather kept the tourists at bay.

Race against tot on foot to the Fourvière, not entirely conclusive as we took the wrong route which made it slightly easier by bike.

Caluire-et-Cuire is one of the hills of Lyon to the NW of the city center. La Croix Rousse district is at the southern end of the hill. The summit of the hill is 275 meters.

Col du Saint SaturninA quiet col close to Chambery. The col is marked by the Croix de Bon SecoursOn the North Side, start at Chambery le Haut. Climb is 1.5km long with the main section around 7%.

I'd cycled down from the col de Pré Long last weekend and the road surface looked ok so I decided to ski if it could be rollerskied. I parked at St Mury.
