Description

Col du Saint Saturnin

A quiet col close to Chambery. The col is marked by the Croix de Bon Secours

On the North Side, start at Chambery le Haut. Climb is 1.5km long with the main section around 7%. The south side starts in Chambery/Bassens and is around 5km long with a section of around 10% over 400m.

Trip Report

The idea was to do an easy ride, largely under LT1 back from Aix les Bains. Some 65km. I returned via the col du St Saturnin, a pleasant little col and a way of linking Aix les Bains with the Gresivaudan valley. Quite hot.

Conditions

Very hot, 29C average but kept a bit cooler by a light north breeze. The piste cyclable in the Gresivaudan has had more work done on it so only the section between la Terrace and le Touvet is a bit rough.
