Second trip to the Tete d'Or park. Not many people on a Thursday afternoon, just a few nasty dags who don't like rollerskiers but are ok with bikes and runners.

I wanted to check out Lyon's Golden Head park to see what the surface is like for rollerskiing.

A trip into the Monts d'Or which I know quite well now up as far as Mont Cindre. Not easy on my 42x24 gear as some of the ramps are pretty steep. The countryside at the gates of the city.

Preprandial loop to get a bit of air on what should be (and were)  some dry trails. Quite a few people around. A bit muggy, better close to the river.

A little aperitif ride on the flat along the tow paths of the river. We explored some strange track shown on google earth, a kind of loop.

Supposed to be an easy session but ended up a lot in zone 3/4 anyway.

Spent an hour doing some classic ski diagonal stride balance and stability exercises. The principal aim is to be balanced on the front of the kick ski (front wheel) at the end of the push phase.

Got my classic rollerskis out for a change and went on a long but thankfully shady and early ski.

Took the towpath south from Brignoud bridge (currently shut to vehicles) as far as the Batie bridge. The path is good on cross skates, much better than the continuation to the north.

I tried the north towpath from Brignoud road bridge to see if it was ok on cross skating.
