Description

Long rollerski (skate style) from Lyon to the Grand Parc Miribel Jonage. The Promenade Parc de Miribel is a bit rough in places with some tree roots and also quite narrow but generally flat. I didn't explore the cycle paths in the park fully. Take care on the bridge over the Canal du Jonage - some rough surface. The cycle path at the Doua cemetery is cross by some big tree roots and watch out for tram lines. It is possible to park at the start of the Promenade Parc de Miribel.

I lost the end of a pole down a big drain on the cycle path. The drain cover was liftable and after checking for dancing clowns I climbed down through cobwebs and spiders to find the end sitting on a ledge of mud and leaves just above a flowing stream. After grabbing the pole I climbed back out through the spider nests and was able to carry on. I'd marked the open drain cover with my bag and boots and fortunately they had not been touched and no cyclist had fallen down the drain. A bit of a nightmare.

Conditions

Warm, max 21C but getting cold once the sun got low. Some damp stretches under the trees.
