Description

A real col du Verdun this weekend with a climb on the closed section. Absolutely no-one around and few cars. Climb is just steep enough on 42x24 but not too steep. Wasn't far off my PB on my winter bike so will return to see if I can do better. From the top it is an easy ride back down to Lyon but I'll take another route next time to find something less steep. Have changed brake blocks for a bit more efficiency.

Conditions

Rain in the morning so some damp patches in the shade. Wind from the north but relatively warm... relatively 12C on the col, 17 in Lyon
