Description

I wasn't very motivated due to the weather but decided a little tour to break the 50K barrier this year wouldn't hurt. I climbed to the summit of Mt Thou, I hadn't tried it before on this bike as it is 9% over 800m and I only have 42x24 gearing but with a bit of "dancing" it wasn't too bad and a great view to the North-East from the summit. I rode back over Mont Cindre but got a bit lost in St Cyr, the best bet is to ride through town even if it gets a bit jammed with cars. I took a route past a school which was blocked by Yummy Mummies in their Chelsea tractors (ok it's a long way from Chelsea).

Training wise there were the following blocks in Z3: 8m, 21m (the main climb), 5m, 4m with Mt Thou being the most intense (upper Z3).

Conditions

Very grey weather, 1C on the tops, 5-6C in town, not very inviting.
