Late morning climb to the Lauteret pass. Not too hot yet but the heat was coming.

Today’s objective was the old anthracite mine workings above Saint-Mury-Monteymond, reached via Lancey and the steep roads climbing into the lower slopes of Belledonne.I started at around 9.

Today’s objective was the Col de Chamrousse, part of the Échappées Iséroises series of closed-road climbs.

I set out with a simple plan: climb up and drop into Yzeron via Saint-Laurent-de-Vaux, then link the small cols before heading back toward Lyon.

Yesterday I went out for a ride in the Monts du Lyonnais, an area I know fairly well, but I have never actually ridden the famous lacets de Courzieu which have a certain reputation among local riders

Where to go? Another avalanche alert, resorts and pistes shut. Clearly we'd need to stay below 2000m and given the claggy cloud somewhere with tree line skiing.

No snow for cross country so a little cycle ride to blow out the work cob webs.

A quick outing to test the November powder before heading to work in the afternoon. I had considered Grand Rocher, but decided that Prabert would offer better conditions.

After a failed outing yesterday. Every time we gained a little altitude leaving Lyon, we ran into blizzards of snow, but today the weather was clear, sunny, and cold. Very cold, with a breeze.
