20m44 for the leg south, just 1 second off my PB - I'll have to try harder next time. There was a little bit of a tailwind mind. That's a pace of 3m26 / km; which is okay really.

Mix of double polling, diagonal stride and pole double kick. Got under an hour for the return trip, which is not bad. Starting to get a bit more slide and at least had good poles this time.

After doing a few short climbs near the house I decided to go over to the local towpath for a "flat" out and back.

After a long morning x-country on Saturday we decided to have a cool 2 hours downhill skiing on Sunday.

We just went up for a couple of hours in the early afternoon, worried about half term crowds but in the end things were pretty quiet. Maybe the changover day effect.

Start of the school vacation so where to go? Skiing? Lake? Finally skiing with a trip back to Allevard for lunch at the excellent Squirrel restaurant.

We headed up reasonably early to the Collet. It was very cold, especially on the Claran lift which was not sheltered from the breeze.

Fantastic conditions both on and off piste, although you'd have to search for powder. It was fairly cold with some wind at the top of the pistes. Not crowded.

Ok this really is the last ski at Allevard this season. Not too crowded for New Year's week, just a small queue on the Carron lift but it is a 6 pax chair.

Last Collet d'Allevard of 2019 and first of the season. We just went for a couple of hours intensive skiing thanks to the excellent Allevard lift pass system. It was painfully cold at altitude.
