After yesterday's Dauphine finish in terrible conditions I decided to tour the same roads towards the final climb. Quite a strong wind riding out north to the start of the climb. The Hurtieres road is now fully open but still quiet. The road has been resurfaced where it was washed away in the floods in 2018 and is very pleasant to climb. Hard at the start but you can get rolling towards the wind. The climb is pretty with views over the Gresivaudan valley.
Lots of debris and gravel on the side roads. Had to take it easy descending. Moderate north wind. Warm in the valley but quickly getting cool at altitude.
