Based on my Strava analysis project: https://github.com/davidzof/Training-Analyzer and LLM coach  (Claude AI), I had a 4×8 interval session planned today.

Trying to make 50K meters for the year but still 1000 meters short and weather has been a bit chill for getting out.

It has been quite a while since I've done over 100km. Lack of time. Lack of motivation. Concerns about form. Excuses, excuses.

The idea was to do a bit of vertical in the weather window. Unfortunately the window slammed shut 1.5km from the col. The sleet/snow was so heavy I decided it would be foolish to go further.

Went via the Church, which was a bit unusual as it is very very steep but I'd forgotten the correct turn, anyway it was shorter. Climb took 56m29 for a VAM of 822, which seems ok.

Nice makes an excellent base for road cycling, particularly outside the main summer season.

I was trying to find a flatter path to the Tower of the Dogs but ended up doing a series of small but steep climbs. I missed the road and looped round via the Corenc town hall on the Ch.

La Tour des ChiensThe fortified house of Arvilliers, known as the "Tour des Chiens", stands at the foot of Mont Saint-Eynard in the Chartreuse region, at an altitude of 530 m.

I really didn't fancy going out, it has been grey and cold for days but at least it wasn't raining. Thankful for small mercys.

As there is little snow locally I decided to get the road bike out and go up the Col du Coq as far as I could before sunset.
