Massif Central

Ski Areas > Massif Central

Skiing on edge of a volcano, no not Kilimanjaro but in the Massif Central. The region consists of three main stations and a number of micro stations. The volcanoes of the Auvergne have been dormant for thousands of years and offer 1300 km of pistes. The stations of Besse-Superbesse and le Mont-Dore have developed their pistes on the two sides of the Sancy, the highest mountain in the range at 1,886 meters. La Loge des Gardes is the closest ski area to Paris at just 380 kms!
