Description

I took this climb by error. From Lesa it is a hard 5.75km at 9% covering around 550 vertical meters. The road ends at a monastery and there is a very good trattoria with lake views.

You can return to Stresa via the back road to Brovello. This isn't particularly interesting apart from the two glamorous lady traffic cops I saw by the autostrada toting machine guns with little "alpina" style uniforms with feathers in their hats.

I added in a trip north from Baveno to climb to the church of St John near the quarries. 110 meters at 16%!
