It was slow going getting to the ski area this am and a big scrum for tickets. The lifts seemed to be opening and closing a bit randomly too.

First day piste skiing since March 2020 and a return to the 7 Laux where we'd finished. Surprisingly not that busy and no queues despite only 2 lifts being open.

After a long morning x-country on Saturday we decided to have a cool 2 hours downhill skiing on Sunday.

It had snowed about 20cm overnight, the pistes were a bit slow going, maybe a wax issue but generally in very good condition.

A morning whizzing around the pistes of the 7 Laux. Surprised by the lack of half term crowds. Only the Oursiere had queues of about 2-3 minutes.

We just went up for a couple of hours in the early afternoon, worried about half term crowds but in the end things were pretty quiet. Maybe the changover day effect.

We got up early to ski for 3 hours around the 7 Laux pistes. Tot took 2nd overall on the Vallons run on Strava.

Start of the school vacation so where to go? Skiing? Lake? Finally skiing with a trip back to Allevard for lunch at the excellent Squirrel restaurant.

Most of the small ski areas have been suffering from lack of snow but the Grand Plan actually is at a similar altitude to the 7 Laux so within the fortunate range where the snow has fallen enough to b
