Ski Areas > Northern Alps > Belledonne > Glandon > Col de la Combe Madame
From the Rieu Claret car park follow a trail that climbs by the Chalet de Rieu Claret then ascends the slope on the left bank of the Rieu Claret stream. At around 2000 meters under la Grosse Pierre the route climbs a 35 degree slope to the north-west on the left bank of the Ruisseau (stream) du Pin. After some gentle rolling slopes you enter a steep sided gorge with the Crete du Pin to your right (looking up the mountain) and the Rochers du Buyant on the left. The col is reached after a final 30 degree slope and is marked by a large kairn.
It is possible to descend into the Combe Madame to loop back by the Rocher Blanc.
