To atone for past sins Dynafit hired top Italian ski boot designer Mario Sartor to build the Zzero range from the ground up. Signore Sartor has 35 years experience creating mountaineering and ski touring boots. He was a project manager at Garmont and has worked for Lowa, Nordica and Technica. The U-MF replaces Pebax with sexy clear red Polyurethane. It looks like something that Apple might have designed. The boot was a bit heavier at 1850 grams but should offer good downhill performance given the flex characteristics of Polyurethane. It has similar construction to the other 4 buckle C range boots so is comfortable for uphill touring, if a little heavy.
The boot comes with Dynafits Multiform (MF) laced inner boot. This weighs just 360 grams, hardly more than thermo liners. The outer is in hard wearing Cordura and it should breathe better than a thermo liner. We welcome the return to laced liners even if they don't have a thick sole for hut use. The liners were very comfortable and should be a favourite with hire shops
