Description

Description

The Col d'Hurtières is a nice little climb out of the Gresivaudan valley near Tencin. The road has virtually no traffic but has a good road surface following resurfacing work in 2018 after monster floods took out the road. It climbs around 650 meters over 8.5km giving a pleasant gradient of 8% average but the first few kms are nearer 10km as is the section just above the village. The road has something of a southern feel to it and is atypical for the area. At the col you can turn left just before the barn to reach the col des Ayes (944m) via a short section of gravel and even climb to the 7 Laux.
