A quick trip to get some air between the rain storms and see where the snowline is. I was surprised there was not more snow still in this high alpine valley but the high altitude rain and thaw had obviously done for it. Descent wasn't great with the small stones on the trail which were quite slippy and painful on the knees despite walking sticks.
Relatively dry, one or two muddy patches. Snow from the Couloir en virgule to the col. Snow in the top part of the valley from the Habert. Gravel on the descent in the Cirque.
