Vertical Climbed: 490 meters (1,608 feet)
Avalanche Risk: -
Snowline: 1,400
With the fresh snow, wind and uncertain weather I decided to avoid the Belledonne today (the conditions were very good early in the morning looking at other reports) and check out the North side of the Bec Charvet. I'd seen there was old snow still in this bowl so with a bit of fresh it could be quite good. Indeed to about 1450 meters the skiing was good and it was possible to descend to the car. The west bowl was poor - lacking a base. Probably the last in the Chartreuse for 2013.
Route Taken: West then North bowl
Weather: Cloudy, 2C at the Col.
Access: Snow covered, especially on chartreuse side of col.
