I hadn't been out on my classic skis much so decided to climb to the Bergeries of Charmant Som. Given the temperature and late hour in the afternoon I knew this would be a bad plan on skate skis but it is ok on classic as you pretty much ski tour to the summit. Generally good climbing, did it in under 40 minutes despite the really poor conditions. Descent was a bit hairy initially due to the slush and footprints everywhere but not my slowest time! Sunset around 18h15.
Limited snow cover on the first km. Icy. Good from km 1 to km 3, final km to the Oratoire was very slushy with lots of footprints. Ok on the run to the farms. Virtually no classic tracks left due to walkers / thaw.
