Got up early - 9.15 to get a space at the trailhead car park. There is only room for half a dozen cars. Already some people skiing when I arrived. The start is a long climb from 1100 to 1275 meters with a lot around 7 to 9%. Quite a hard start. Then a gentle descent towards St Hilaire. The snow was already soft as the pistes are east facing which made for good skiing. The climb back is not so hard, more like 5% but already one or two sticky sections at 11am. I took the back bowl to the top of the ski lifts and its zig zag descent which somehow I got a personal record on, otherwise a fairly gentle ski although an average HR of 154bpm would say otherwise.
1.5C at the car park. Pistes the best I've seen them for a long time. No stones and no debris. Just footprints from walker !!! They must wait for the piste basher to pass then spring out.
