Vertical Climbed: 902 meters (2,959 feet)
Vertical Descended: 902 meters
Rating: 5
Way back in 1948 the trail was known as the "Route de la Carrière" but dissapeared with the enlargement of the quarries. The new trail climbs from the golf course at Bossey by the side of quarries where there is a small cliff and cables. The path is very steep, stony and in some places earthy and slippery. It is not for nothing that the Saleve has a deadly reputation. Second only for fatalities to Mont Blanc in the region. The trail joins the Bûcherons just before the path of Petite Gorge which can be used to exit only to the summit or you can continue to the Grande Gorge for the descent.
Dry. Warm and sunny.
