The mountain rescue services based in Briançon have warned skiers of the risk of avalanche in the Galibier, la Grave and Col du Lauteret sectors following a series of interventions and alerts.
"We have just taken part in a rescue on an avalanche at the Pic Blanc du Galibier. On Monday, we were already involved in a rescue when an avalanche was triggered in this area with a buried person found unharmed. Today the victim died. We alert skiers to the high risk of avalanche in the Hautes-Alpes and particularly in the Galibier / La Grave / Lautaret sector.
