Fourvière is the hill that dominates the center of Lyon to the west on the right bank of the Saône river in the 5th arrondissement of the city. It is the foundation of the Roman city Lugdunum on the site of an earlier Gallic sanctuary dedicated to the god Lug (Lugdunum meaning "hill of Lug"). The summit is 318 meters at the fort of Sainte -Foy. There used to be a dry ski slope to the north at le Sarra.
Tour of Lyon to check out the climb to the Fourvière - okay on a 42x24, takes about 7 minutes in total. Need to find a less steep descent.
Warmish in the late afternoon. A lot of people in Lyon.
