The climbs are not too long. Basically 4 climbs of around 300 meters. It starts right in the heart of Lyon in the 9th district but the traffic pretty much goes by the turn for the first climb. Just as well as Lyon is mad on a bike if you don't know the roads. The road from Couzon is like the Paris - Roubaix, barely surfaced in places. I wonder if the GPS dropouts were due to the big radar on top of the hill. I think it does radar for Lyon airport but there are lots of signs saying "no photography" everywhere (ooops!).
