Trip ReportTot reminded me that it was 5 years since we last skied at Chamrousse, at least alpine skied.

Tired after yesterday's efforts at Val Cenis we decided on a lazy day at les 7 Laux just near home.

General DescriptionThe ski resort of Val Cenis - Lanslevillard - Lanslebourg is located at the top end of the Maurienne valley in the Savoie department of the French Northern Alps.

It was almost like end of season conditions. Snow cover is very thin.

General DescriptionArêches-Beaufort is a typical Beaufortain village resort, located in the heart of Savoie, 20 km from Albertville.

Most of the pistes are currently open. A good little tour to the three parts of the resort with a Vallons de Pra at the end in very good condition, considering the general lack of snow this year.

The Plateau de Retord ski resort is located in the village of les Plans d'Hotonnes. The 13 slopes, from green to red are adapted from beginner to more experienced skiers.

Return to the 7 Laux. Today it was much warmer with a southerly, strong foehn wind that even stopped the chairlifts at times.

The conditions were considerably improved compared to our slushy ski tour from a couple of days before. The temperatures are negative, the snow canons were running.

First alpine ski of this season. Better than expected given the recent high altitude rain with soft snow and very little ice.
