Description

I'd seen that the Beldina / 7 Laux nordic area was still being pisted although no longer open the trails were on free access so I decided to head up as it is not far from home. I was a bit worried at the start that I'd fallen for an april fool as the trail from the car park was rocks but snow appeared around the Chalet and the piste basher had indeed been out doing its job. Only the home trails had been pisted today but the other trails had been done on Wednesday and apart from idiot walkers were in pretty good shape. There was a bare section on the return loop of the Pre de l'Arc blue but the Red had reasonable snow cover although was a bit icy. Certainly enough to keep someone amused for a session. It is probably one of the most spectacular resorts with the view over the Belledonne, Vercors and Chartreuse mountains. Only Champagny outshines it really or maybe Vallouise.

Conditions

Warmer than the previous days and the north wind has dropped. Getting soggy after 11am.
