Description

From the parking at Super Collet follow the Ski Touring track to climb to the col de l'Occiput (1877 m) then follow the piste to the south-east just after a buttress follow the ridgeline to the summit of les Plagnes (orientation table). Be careful of cornice below the summit. A small skitour which is possible from the first snows of the autumn. Ideal as a first tour. If  you follow the marked trail you almost forget you are in a ski resort. It is possible to descend directly via the West face or the famous Triangle (ski 3.2/E2) but watch out for avalanches + terrain traps.

People have been ski touring in the bowl since the 1920s. Photo: Coco Chataing and her friend on the slopes below the Triangle.

Trip Report

Good training, completely skiable.

Conditions

Sunny, care needed on the descent as there is not much snow depth.
