When I arrived at the car-park it was already full at 10am although some people were starting to leave saying the snow had become unskiably soft. I decided just to climb to the Charmant-Som and wished I brought my classic skis. It was hard going and I had to resort to a bit of duck footing up the hill on the canaple section. 37 minutes to climb the 4km compared to a PR of 31 minutes (and I want to go under 30 this season :-( ). At the Oratoire the wind from the south was quite strong, especially on the return from the Charmant Som. Ski down was not that fast (8 minutes for 3.5km). All the while we were skiing under this strange yellow sky.
A nice coat of saharan sand on the snow. Wet snow, not great for skiing. Not pisted after the Oratoire with snow drifts.
