The ski resort of La Toussuire is situated in the Maurienne area of the Savoie department in the Northern Alps region. It is part of the Les Sybelles ski domain. The lift served area extends from 1800 metres to 2620 metres. There are 45 km of lift served runs. There are 27 km of cross country trails. The resort features a snowpark.

There's an unbelievable amount of lift accessed / slack country off piste available that stays untracked for quite sometime after a storm as the area is a predominantly family resort. The snow pack on North facing aspects has been particularly dangerous in recent years with many naturally triggered avalanches occurring after minimal snowfall and temperature fluctuations. Such routes should be approached with extra caution.
La Toussuire
The south facing slope from Le Grand Truc down to La Toussuire is visible from the resort and is a fairly safe, low angle option after a storm. Take the slow lift to the top of Le Grand Truc and take the Gentianes piste to the left for about 100m then head off the piste to the left and cut round the right side of the peak. Pick any route down the face back to la Toussuire.
Take the lift to the Tete De Ballard at the top of the Vallee Perdue. The south facing routes into the Valley are by far the safer option with many variations available and an easy ski out down to the ancient Renard two seater.
The North facing couloirs dropping into the Vallee Perdue are accessed from the Le Corbier lifts and are far riskier option due to regular avalanches. These should be attempted early in the day and a few days after a storm. This year (2010) two of the steeper +35deg couloirs have seen natural slides all the way to the ground after minimal snowfall. You'll see tracks in there but the chances are they're laid down by people who don't know just how dangerous these routes really are.

His family have lived and worked in the area for generations so his local knowledge is unbeatable. He caters for small groups of Ski tourers, skiers and snowboarders.
