Description

Plan A had been to spend a morning in les 7 Laux. Google indicated 35 minutes to drive up but the motorway exit was blocked and a check with a friend said more like 1h20, even more as the roads were gridlocked. 20 minute queues on the lifts ! It wasn't even sunny.

Plan B: we swtiched to St Hilaire du Touvet. This little ski area is now run by volunteers. As it no longer opens ever day it takes the a bit of time to get things up and running in the morning. The Ruches lift wasn't open and the Sauzet top lift was having some trouble waking up. However it was far from the queues across the valley. The pistes were well prepared but after a week of hard skiing my legs were a bit tired and I had to take it easy on the slopes. The off piste was heavy, humid snow, not many were tempted, it is far from the pre-covid champagne powder we used to ski in the Chartreuse.

All in all a good end to our week's skiing in nice sunny and warm conditions.

Conditions

17C in the valley, spring like conditions on piste.
