Sun, 6 February 2022

Technical

Minimum altitude: 1,133 meters

Distance: 7.9 km

Slope Aspect: East

Vertical Climbed: 183 meters (600 feet)

Vertical Descended: 174 meters

Description

I started from St Hilaire, the ski area pistes were in perfect condition (not now after a deluge on Sunday evening) but afterwards the slight descent from St Hilaire was challenging and things got worse on the climb apart from a few sections where there was a narrow band of skiable, but frozen snow. I double pushed up to where the climb opens out then decided that the descent was going to be horrible and it was not sensible to go further. Mea culpa, I should have checked the status first. The descent was ok in parts as I was able to ski the refreeze crust on the edge of the pistes except for a 50 meter section in the trees which I decided to walk down. A bit of a waste of time really

Conditions

Unskiable, frozen ruts. The piste basher is broken and clearly not repaired yet.
