I've done ski touring from Theys via les 4 chemins twice, so I know that the road is tarmac as far as the crossroads. I had the idea of cycling to the end of the tarmac road and then seeing if it's possible to cross to the cross-country skiing station at Barioz. The track isn't too bad on a road bike with 28mm tyres, a bit rocky but cycleable. The climb from the valley, 1200m from the Theys bridge, is fairly long. Above Theys, you're in the forest, so the climb is fairly shady.
Another of the difficult climbs in the Gresivaudan this season.
Quite warm. 31C in the valley, 14C at the ski station. The track from the 4 chemins to the Cross Country ski station is fairly rocky.
