Good Winter Season for N'Py Pyrenean resort operator

The N'Py ski network has wrapped up its 2024–2025 season with an impressive 2,070,375 skier-days, marking a 9% increase over last year and nearly matching the record season of 2021–2022—the best of the past four winters. This strong performance highlights a particularly favorable winter across the Pyrenean slopes for resort operators despite a lack of snow at low altitudes. N'Py manages eight ski resorts in the French Pyrenees—Peyragudes, Luz-Ardiden, Cauterets, Gourette, La Pierre Saint-Martin, Grand Tourmalet, Piau-Engaly, and the emblematic Pic du Midi.

Snow conditions in the Pyrenees during the 2024–2025 winter season were inconsistent. While the season began with substantial snowfall in early December, leading to a strong start for many resorts, January experienced unusually warm temperatures, resulting in sparse snow cover across the mountain range with the tail end of the season dampened by unstable weather. The final ski days were on April 21 at Piau and Cauterets, concluding a stretch of 130 consecutive days of operation.

Despite these challenges N'Py good results can be attributed to effective snow management strategies, including the use of snowmaking equipment and targeted grooming, which helped maintain skiable conditions even during warmer periods. Additionally, a significant snowstorm in early March brought fresh powder to the region, revitalizing the slopes and extending the season for many resorts.

New ski passes were popular with clients. Sales of the "No Souci Pyrénées" and "Flex" cards rose by 14% and 25% respectively, reaching 121,643 and 32,281 units sold. Together, they accounted for 521,003 skier-days—a 36% increase. The No Souci Pyrénées card for frequent skiers offers discounts, fast access, and loyalty perks, and the Flex card aimed at beginners is rechargeable lift pass. The Fast Pass line, available to No Souci members, earned a remarkable 87% satisfaction rating.

On the commercial side, digital platforms proved increasingly popular, with 43.5% of customers using N'Py’s online services, including internet bookings and rechargeable passes. Online sales of lift passes jumped 12%, underlining the growing demand for autonomy and flexibility. The official platform, n-py.com, also saw a strong performance, generating €2.9 million in revenue—up 13% from the previous year.

With the winter season now closed, N'Py has turned its focus to summer tourism. Since May 8, Peyragudes has reopened the Skyvall gondola and its bike park, while Cauterets Pont d’Espagne has also begun welcoming visitors. The Pic du Midi is currently undergoing maintenance and will reopen on May 29.
