Vertical Climbed: 790 meters (2,592 feet)
Vertical Descended: 756 meters
I'd ridden this road a couple of times on a road bike. The surface is quite good to Frasmatta so I decided to attempt it on rollerskis - although the classic variety. The road after Boden has restricted access but still quite a few cars, maybe a half dozen. Got a bit lost with the footpaths at Frasmatta, you need to really ski as far as the village then cross to the Strada Vecchia (which is the old road) which wiinds down through some houses like it is a drive. The Vecchia is a bit rough in places - take good shoes for the descent. It arrives at Boden church and you then take a stone road to Ornavasso which goes past a series of shrines. The Vecchia descent is quite interesting, you so past a number of hamlets that you also see from the main road, some buildings are ruins like Bodahirmi.
Not too warm, started at 7am. Storm blew in at 10am but I avoided that.
