We set out from Lyon at 6am and arrived just after 8. We had expected more traffic, we were always with cars on the way up but things were moving. None of the snowmaggedon of the last weekend. Parking was 26 euros in the town center. It is all paid parking in les Deux Alpes now but we were 5 in the car so it is amortized. The visibility was poor without being disastrous, in the morning you could always see far enough to ski ok but it was snowing lightly. In the afternoon the light got very flat and the powder of the morning turned into bumps which were hard to see and ski at times. Not that many people but 1000 students in resort from different universities.
We didn't go to the very top of the ski area at 3600 meters due to the poor weather, it wasn't fun on the t bars up on the glacier. Given the conditions a surprisingly good day out. The new Jandri lift is very impressive.
Not too cold, snow in the morning with about 10cm on piste. Nice skiing
