Description

Relatively steep climb on the south-east side of Grenoble up through the village of le Venon (bar opposite the church). Despite the slope facing to the West/North West it catches the sun and is very hot on a summer's day. There a no water fountains on the climb. The road is a technical descent if you tackle it in the other direction. It can form the start of the Balcons de Belledonne tour or you can descend via la Murianette or Uriage.

Trip Report

Return from Grenoble with a bit of added climbing for fun. At the top I continued to le Pinet then across the first half of the balcons which has more climbing than you'd think.

Conditions

Good.
