For the first alpine ski of the new season we decided to head up to the Sept Laux after not much thought. It was pretty empty when we arrived. A quick run down to le Pleynet in the sun although half the run was unpisted and heavyish powder. We then skied around the Orsiere before catching the sun on the Prapoutel side where there were no upper runs open and we had to ski around the Mataru. In Prapoute' there was just a band of man made snow to get to the chair. The village beginners area was snow free due to the recent thaw and rain. Still at least it was open.
Good snow but quite a few pistes closed even if the lifts were all open.
