I'd heard that la Feclaz was largely open so motivated myself for a morning trip up. I arrived before 9.30, good as people were only just starting to arrive. A lot of club groups however with the usual problems of them barging around like they own the place which doesn't exactly make for relaxing skiing. Still they were largely around the Feclaz loops. I did a couple of tours, 32km, good enough for a first long tour on skating.
Lack of snow at la Feclaz, snow canons were operating but good on all the trails except at St Francois where there were a few bare patches. Sugar snow on the climbs which required some change in technique. Pleasant weather.
