Alpine Skiing: Afternoon Alpine Allevard Ski - 1,888 m. (6,195 ft)

Thu, 25 December 2025

Technical

Minimum altitude: 1,419 meters

Distance: 23.8 km

Slope Aspect: West

Vertical Climbed: 2,486 meters (8,157 feet)

Vertical Descended: 2,486 meters

Description

Christmas day potter around the Allevard pistes. The Caran main lift was closed so we couldn't access the main bowl. The rest of the open slopes were in good condition. Perhaps 20cm of hard, man made snow at the bottom of the resort but good higher up. Not many people around, probably explained the lift closer.

Conditions

Good on piste, not enough snow to ski off piste. Strong wind from the south had stopped the snow transforming on south facing slopes for anyone tempted by spring skiing.
