A tour around the Grand Large reservoir using Cross Skis or Skikes. Surface is good but it is over a year since I've been out on my cross skis so they took a while to get used to as you can see in the video. The south side of the reservoir is on a wide, clay track. Not too busy and lots of room for everyone. At the upper end you cross over the canal via a road with a steep but short descent. The return path is initially smaller and a mix of hardtop and dirt with one steep descent with a hairpin on it. I decided to descend that on foot. You then ski past the boat clubs on the road before coming back onto a largish cycle path. At the lower end you cross a wide, purpose made pedestrian bridge with an easy run out.
Despite heavy recent rain all good. A show en-route but nothing serious.
