A quick outing to test the November powder before heading to work in the afternoon. I had considered Grand Rocher, but decided that Prabert would offer better conditions. There was a track leading to Pas de la Coche, partially filled in by yesterday's wind, and although it makes sense, the trailblazer seems to have been wearing clogs! Compared to Jasse and Aigleton, which were the favorites of the day, I was alone on Coche. At the pass, the sun was shining pleasantly, even at 10 a.m. The descent was on slightly heavy powder snow. Very pleasant to ski, especially with mid-fat skis (88 mm). There were a lot of people in the boardercross with the late risers, and the crud was not the best ski of the day.
Weather/temperatures: Not too cold. Sunny.
Access conditions/parking altitude: Parking 1,250 m—the two summer parking lots have not been cleared. Already a dozen cars at 7:45 a.m. 150 cars at 11 a.m.! Be careful this weekend. First come, first served. Ice patch just above Brignoud - roadworks and water on the road has frozen.
Skiing conditions: No bumps or rocks. Powder n the bowl slightly compacted by the wind 4*. Crud in the border: 3*. Road: groomed snow. Overall very good.
Snow conditions and avalanche activity: 25 cm of snow at 1250 meters, much higher - 100-150 cm. No signs of natural avalanche activity in the area.
