It has been raining all week, on and off, so this was a last gasp to get out and do a bit of cycling. Didn't go far from home as I had to be back by 11am. Decided on the Col du Lauteret as it is a nice, quiet climb but with a south facing descent which would be warmer and not as wet. Climb took 55 minutes, 10 minutes off my PR but still a VAM of around 800m/hour, which is ok these days. Clouds blew in by 10am obscuring the mountains.
Chilly at altitude but warm still in the valley (mid teens). First snows on the Gresivaudan
